Uninstall/reinstall your operating system

How do I uninstall Windows 98? My 100MHz processor is proving too slow to run Windows 98 so I want to reinstall Windows 95 from the CD.

If you installed from a Windows 98 upgrade, and chose the option to keep the Windows 95 files, you should be able to uninstall Windows 98 from an entry in Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. If that entry isn't there, you can't.

In that case your only solution is to reformat the hard disk and reinstall Windows 95 from scratch. Make sure that you have a bootable floppy disk containing CD-ROM drivers and that you can boot from it and access the CD-ROM drive before you start. See tip How to make a bootable floppy disk.
